As a a professor at Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, Piotr leads the Single Photon Applications Laboratory, a research group dedicated to the development of satellite optical and quantum communication technologies, as well as verification and validation services in cybersecurity using Quantum Key Distribution (QKD).
His also a founder of empiriQa, a startup focused on applied quantum technologies.
His work includes projects carried out for the European Space Agency, particularly in the areas of quantum internet development and cybersecurity of satellite communication links, bridging advanced research with real-world space and security applications.
