Antonio Mandarino works in theoretical physics and quantum technologies. He got his PhD in Physics from the University of Milan in 2016.
He’s now a Senior Researcher at the International Center for Theory of Quantum Technologies in Gdańsk, a major European quantum research hub.
He’s taught and researched at places like the University of Milan, CERN, the Polish Academy of Sciences, and universities in France, Spain, and South Korea.
His work puts together quantum information, open quantum systems, and machine learning in physics, with papers in top journals. He has been invited speaker at international conferences and stays involved in global science networks.
Alongside, he also contributes to science outreach, bridging research on novel techmologies with education and society. Antonio was a co-leader of Q-Camp 2025, a two-week summer school dedicated to Quantum Machine Learning. Following the strong response to last year’s edition, he is also returning as a co-leader for this year’s Q-Camp (31 Aug – 10 Sep, Gdańsk).
