Dr. Adam Gontarz is Head of Digitalization, Innovation and Technology at Swissmem, the leading association of Switzerland’s technology industry, and a member of the management board. He is responsible for activities related to digital transformation, industrial innovation, advanced manufacturing technologies, technology policy, and industry networking.
In addition, he leads Swissmem’s activities in the field of quantum technologies and serves as a key industry representative within the Swiss Quantum Industry Network (SQIN), fostering the market adoption and industrial application of quantum technologies in Switzerland.
Adam holds a PhD (Dr. sc. ETH Zürich) in Mechanical Engineering and an International Executive MBA. He is also co-founder of the ETH spin-off SIGMAtools GmbH, where he has been involved in the development of industrial digitalization, connectivity, and data analytics solutions.
He has extensive experience at the intersection of industry, research, technology transfer, standardization, and innovation management. Based on his work with technology leaders and industrial companies, he actively supports the translation of emerging technologies into practical industrial value.
