Dr. Akshata Shenoy completed her Ph.D. at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore. She subsequently received the prestigious Swiss Government Excellence Postdoctoral Fellowship to conduct postdoctoral research in quantum cryptography at the University of Geneva, Switzerland.
She is currently a Senior Researcher at the International Centre for Theory of Quantum Technologies (ICTQT), University of Gdańsk (UG) where her work centers on quantum cryptography, quantum correlations, and the integration of machine learning into quantum technologies.
She is actively involved in mentoring both undergraduate and graduate students. In addition to her academic work, she contributed to the development of a strategic roadmap for quantum technologies in Karnataka, as part of an initiative by the Karnataka Science and Technology Academy (KSTA), India.
Moreover, this year she was a co-leader of Q-Camp 2025 – a two-week summer school organised by the University of Gdańsk and Kainos for over 30 international students. It is designed for ambitious young scholars from around the world who are eager to explore this revolutionary field. This edition was dedicated to: an introduction to quantum error correction; machine learning and its applications to quantum information and cryptography; quantum machine learning and its applications to quantum computation; and artificial intelligence (classical vs quantum).
