Born in 1975 in Lausanne (Switzerland), Marc Bruchez holds a law degree (2001) from the University of Fribourg, Switzerland, and a lawyer’s license (2005). He completed his education with a postgraduate diploma in European law at the Carlos III University of Madrid (2002).
On a professional level, Marc Bruchez worked as a jurist in law firms in South Africa (2001) and Madrid (2002), then practiced at the bar in Lausanne, Switzerland, from 2003 to 2007.
On 1st of May 2007, he joined the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) and completed his diplomatic education in Colombia at the Swiss representation in Bogota. Returning to headquarter in May 2008, he was a diplomatic desk officer within the International Organizations Division. From January 2011 to July 2015, he was Deputy Head of Mission at the Swiss Embassy in Bucharest. From August 2015 to June 2019, he was Head of the Francophonie Section at headquarter in Bern, and then Deputy Head of Mission at the Swiss Embassy in Athens, with the title of Counsellor. Since August 2024, he is Deputy Head of Mission at the Swiss Embassy in Warsaw with the title of Minister.
On the military level, Marc Bruchez commanded a transmission company from 2005 to 2007.
